How much Merengue Powder do I need?

2 lbs of Icing= 2 lbs of powdered sugar + 1/2 cup of merengue power + 2/3 cups of water.

50 mini skulls=5 pounds of granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons of Merengue Powder.
100 mini skulls= 10 lbs of granulated sugar + 7 tablespoons of merengue powder.

20 medium skulls= 5 lbs of granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons of merengue powder.
20 medium skulls= 10 lbs of granulated sugar + 7 tablespoons of merengue powder.

5 large skulls=5 lbs of granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons of merengue powder.
10 large skulls= 10 lbs of granulated sugar + 7 tablespoons of merengue powder.

Add to your to icing.
Sugar skull mold instructions specify that grocery store food coloring will not work.
This is 'Baker's Food Coloring'.

Small Merengue Powder<br>4 oz.
4 oz. Merengue Powder=8 tablespoons=1/2 cup

Mix merengue powder with granulated sugar and water to make the sugar skulls. Mix merengue powder with powdered sugar and water to make the icing. Add food coloring and put in a pastry bag to decorate the sugar skulls.

4" X 4" Asst. color squares (Blue, Purple, Copper, Wildberry etc.).
100 per package.
Used to place on the forehead of the sugar skull, this is where you write the person's name that you are dedicating the skull to.
Place the sugar skulls on your altar or give them to your friend with their name on it as a joke.
Use the icing to glue the tinfoil (eyes and forehead) into place, glue or tape won't stick to the sugar skull.

Easy! Just add water and mix.
Makes 1 lb. of Icing.
Add food coloring and put into pastry bags.
Some tips: add more water to make smoother icing, add more mix to make stiffer icing
After mixing for nine minutes place icing into separate cups and mix in food coloring.
Keep icing away from top of the pastry bag to avoid a mess.
Keep your tips small for better control.
